Our Ongoing Commitment to Support Open Source Database Change

Recently, Datical has dedicated several engineers to the Liquibase open source project which helped push the Liquibase 3.7 release with many important new features, including:

• Improved support for PostgreSQL, DB2, MariaDB, MS SqlServer, Ingres, and Firebase.
• Support for NOVALIDATE keywords on Oracle constraints. Users now have the ability to create or recreate constraints without incurring the cost of validation of existing data.
• Increased atomicity of changes in generated change logs. The diffChangeLog operation now returns one—and only one—change in each generated change set, making it simpler for users to recover from deployment errors.
• Improvements to snapshots of multiple catalog/database projects. Users who manage change to multiple databases (or catalogs) for a single project or application will see improvement in dependency ordering and the accuracy of change sets produced by comparing two environments (online or offline) making it easy to understand and reconcile differences across the application pipeline.
• General performance improvements and bug fixes.

Strategic partnerships and increased community contribution

Datical has also been investing in strategic partnerships with Cassandra, CockroachDB, Couchbase, and SAP HANA, among others, to increase community contribution.

We’re also pleased to share that we’re currently looking for an open source community manager and we’ll be hiring more engineers focused on Liquibase this year.
